This privacy statement discloses the privacy practices of the United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS) concerning your use of the Satoyama Development Mechanism (SDM) Website at https://sdm.satoyama-initiative.org/ (“Website”), including application for the SDM.

UNU-IAS may share personal information with IGES for the purpose of carrying out the activities of the SDM operation including:

(b) Making contracts with selected project implementation organisations;

(c) Distributing SDM funding to project implementation organisations;

(d) Following-up on, and conducting monitoring and evaluation of project implementation;

(e) Collecting, organising and disseminating knowledge from implemented projects; and

(f) Reporting on the above activities to the Executive Board of SDM.
This provision is made provided that:

(a) Under the circumstances, IGES affords an appropriate level of security and protection for personal data in light of the principles of UNU’s Policy on Personal Data Protection;

(b) Transfers of personal data are limited to the minimum necessary to fulfil the specified and legitimate purposes;

(c) Appropriate measures are in place to safeguard the transmission of personal data; and
-
(d) The method of transmission is proportionate to the nature and sensitivity of personal data
